Four days ago I wrote about calming the chaos and asked you to join me for the last 92 days of the year. So here is my honest check-in: I actually did the thing. And I am writing this between study blocks, with cold coffee, so you know it is real.

What I used

The Vantage reset system. If you are new here, Vantage is my little corner of the internet for mindset resets: gain perspective, find your advantage. The system itself is almost suspiciously simple. There is a toolkit that walks you through the reset, and the whole thing is built around a 15-minute routine. Not a 47-step morning routine. Not another app to learn. Fifteen minutes.

Try the Vantage reset toolkit here.

How I actually used it this week

Sunday night: I sat down with the toolkit and did the full 15-minute reset. Brain dump everything swirling in my head, pick the three things that actually matter this week, and give myself permission to let the rest wait.

Mornings: one page. Not a journaling marathon, just the one thing that moves the needle today. On boards-study days, that one thing is obvious. On regular days, it keeps me from doing seventeen half-things.

When the chaos crept back (twice, because life): I reran the reset instead of spiraling. That is the part that surprised me. The system is not about never falling off. It is about having a 15-minute path back.

If you missed it, here is the October 1st post that started this.

What surprised me most

Honestly? That I kept going past day two. I am the queen of starting systems on Sunday and abandoning them by Wednesday. This one survived because it is small enough to do on a bad day. Fifteen minutes is short enough that my brain cannot talk me out of it.

Where are you at?

This was never supposed to be a solo project, so tell me in the comments:

1. Did you start any kind of reset this week, or are you still thinking about it?

2. What is the one thing that keeps pulling you back into chaos?

3. What is actually working for you right now? I want to steal it.

No judgment on any answer. Thinking about it counts. We have 88 days left, and that is plenty.

Hi, I’m VJ.

I’m a busy mom with a full-time job, and I’m almost always running out of time.

Ironically, for someone who doesn’t have much time, I spend a surprising amount of it testing tools, apps, and shortcuts that are supposed to save me time.

Since I’m already doing all that experimenting, I figured I might as well share what actually helps, what doesn’t, and what seems worth trying.

Hopefully, it helps you get some hours back too.

Side project: I also run Olive Marlow Studio, a little collection of printables and gifts with a mix of wedding designs and cardiology-inspired pieces, because when you work in the cardiology department, some heart puns are just too good not to turn into stickers.
